It’s official: we’re a 1% for the Planet nonprofit

The Council is pleased to announce that we are a new nonprofit partner of 1% for the Planet, a growing network of over 1,400 member companies in 43 countries that give one percent of revenues to environmental causes. As an approved 1% partner, we are now eligible to receive donations from 1% member companies, and join some 2,700 other environmental organizations in the group of eligible recipients for 1% member donations.

1% member businesses fuel this nonprofit network through their annual contributions, which totaled over $22 million in 2010.  Partnership with 1% greatly expands the potential pool of funding to which we can look to for support.

If you are a 1% for the Planet member, please consider including the Council for Responsible Sport in your annual 1% donation plans for 2011. If you would like to learn more about CRS before making a decision about your donation, please contact Executive Director Keith Peters at (307) 690-6803.

Becoming an approved nonprofit is just the first step for CRS. We’re eager to be able to add the 1% for the Planet Recipient logo to our Web site, which would serve as a further “seal of approval” for CRS, signifying, as it does, that 1% member companies have chosen the Council from a pool of thousands of worthy organizations for their charitable giving.
