Community Legacy

The following are a few examples of industry best practices in the area of leaving a legacy in the event’s host community.

 Promote Local Businesses

Events that seek to leave a positive legacy recognize the opportunity to support the local economy by spending money within it. They look to contract with businesses that are locally owned where possible and support companies whose values align with their own.

 Partner for the Common Good

There are unlimited ways to benefit the greater good! Events that have the most success at leaving a legacy in their communities strategically partner with non-profit and advocacy groups in the area who are well established and have a proven track record of success. They think about what values and common ground the event and the organization(s) share and implement creative campaigns using the event as a platform for raising awareness, funds or goods.
